The unique ABCD strategy
The ABCD strategy consists of four phases:
Absorb
Learning a new language starts with absorbing like a sponge. You’ll start with listening and reading with the exercises in this course. In this phase the focus lies on understanding the language and not on producing it.
Building blocks
These are the tools and knowledge you need to achieve your goal. This could be grammar, vocabulary, or useful phrases.
Consolidation
Time for guided action! All the building blocks are combined into a format, so you can practice before speaking in public. Visualize yourself in the daily Dutch situation and rehearse. You’ll get videos to speak along so you’ll feel confident before going to the last phase.

When does the course start and finish?
These courses are flexible. You can start when you want.
The recommended pace is one module per week, eight weeks in total. You have two years of access to the materials and Vivian's help and feedback.
Most students need around 5 hours per week to complete one module. This time investment depends on your personal factors.
Is this course interactive or self-paced online?
Both! Work through the lectures at your own pace. If you follow the structure of this course, you will reach A1 or A2 in only 8 weeks! But take all the time you need. Any questions or do you want feedback? Your teacher Vivian is the host of the online community and is happy to help you!
Can I get a preview or trial?
When you join the course, you'll get a 14-day money-back guarantee meaning you will get your money back if it's not something for you. If you haven't tested more than 1-2 modules and if you email me within 14 days.

What is the difference between the two packages?
The DIY package and DIYPLUS package are 100% flexible. You can learn Dutch whenever you want. The difference is that you'll get feedback on your writing/speaking skills and pronunciation by Vivian if you get the DIYPLUS package. You can submit speaking/writing assignments and Vivian will send you her feedback (text/voice message).
The DIY package is without this personalized feedback. When you join the DIY course, you'll still get exercises to work on speaking, writing, listening and reading skills (as well as grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, etc.). These will be corrected by the system.
Are these courses something for me?
The A1 or A2 Dutch course is something for you if you need something flexible instead of a fixed schedule.
This course is NOT for you if you want a regular course with multiple Zoom sessions per week with a fixed schedule. This is not a course like that. Why? Because I know that keeping up with a group is hard (because of the schedule and because you might learn faster or slower than the other students).
Can I learn B1 Dutch with you too?
Yes but you have to be a bit patient. I'm working on this B1 course. The course will be ready at the end of 2024 (no exact date yet).

Will the A2 course prepare me for the A2 integration exam?
After completing the A2 course, you're level will be at A2. That means, you're ready to prep for the exams by doing the practice exams from the government (inburgeren.nl).
Any information about KNM is not included in the course.
As a former assessor for the integration exam, I know what you need to get to level A2 and ultimately pass the exams.
You can only start the A2 course if your current level is around A1.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes! After completing the course, you'll get a certification of participation/completion so that you can prove you've took lessons.
Please note that any certificate from any school is not legit when it comes to proving you're at a certain level. The only way you can do this is by taking an official exam by DUO. But of course, my certificate will help when an employer asks if you've taken lessons.
Will I get an exam?
After the 8 modules, you'll get an exam/test that tests your understanding of the modules, your writing, reading and listening skills.
Can I pay in installments?
With all packages, you can either pay the full amount right away or you can pay in two installments. The first installments will be paid right away and the second payment will be automatically charged exactly one month from the first payment. After this, there are no additional costs.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
I would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact me within 14 days of purchasing and I will refund you the money.
